Overview - Masters of Arts in Hindi

Masters of Arts in Hindi offered by JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) is aligned with the New Education Policy (NEP) and is the preferred choice for the prospective linguists and writers. The program explores all genres of Hindi Literature to cater to diversified talents and varied interests. It also lays emphasis on etymology, orthography, classical grammar and phonology of Hindi Language. It facilitates an in depth study of researches already undertaken in various fields of Hindi literature. The program includes the study of Ancient Hindi Literature, Medieval Hindi Literature, Modern Hindi Literature, Comparative Literature, Literary Criticism, Hindi Epigraphy, Folklore, Translation, Linguistics, Theatre and Drama, Cultural discourse, Women discourse, Subaltern studies, Third Gender studies, etc. The program aims to develop analytic skills, creativity, critical thinking, editing skills, skimming techniques and comprehension and research skills.

Job Prospects

Academician / Researcher

Teach students at various school level, colleges and universities and help them in inculcating culture and develop language skills through innovative ideas. Conduct research and publish materials to advance knowledge in the relevant field.

Interpreter

The proficiency to convert any language to Hindi either spoken or written ensures a job in various fields like government, media (electronic, social and print), literature, culture and many more as an interpreter.

Anchor

Commentary, narrators, interviews, debates, panel discussions, and any other conversation broadcasts are part of this job profile.

Editor

Develop content, edit, rewrite, column writing, story writing in books, journals, newspapers, periodicals, mass media and websites.

Translator

Translate articles, journals and research work from various languages to Hindi.

Eligibility Criteria Documents Fee
  • Graduation in any discipline as specified in the university notification and the candidate must have studied Hindi as a subject during graduation.
  • 10th standard marks card.
  • 12th standard marks card/Diploma marks card along with completion certificate. ITI all semester marks card and ITI certificate.
  • All semester/year degree marks sheet.
  • Degree convocation certificate.
  • Passport size photo (Selfies not allowed), photo should be in jpg format less than 50kb.
  • Aadhar Card - Page 1 & 2  (showing DD/MM/YYYY)  and if only year mentioned in Aadhar then needs to be updated and submitted.
  • Application form duly filled in all respects.
  • Registered Affidavit - in case of name change/DOB change.
  • Caste certificate for MBA/MCA/MSC if their percentage in degree is below 50% and above 45% - ONLY APPLICABLE FOR SC/ST STUDENTS.
  • ABC ID is mandatory.
  • All the above original documents scanned in PDF format only.
