It also lays emphasis on etymology, orthography, classical grammar and phonology of Hindi Language. It facilitates an in depth study of researches already undertaken in various fields of Hindi literature. The program includes the study of Ancient Hindi Literature, Medieval Hindi Literature, Modern Hindi Literature, Comparative Literature, Literary Criticism, Hindi Epigraphy, Folklore, Translation, Linguistics, Theatre and Drama, Cultural discourse, Women discourse, Subaltern studies, Third Gender studies, etc. The program aims to develop analytic skills, creativity, critical thinking, editing skills, skimming techniques and comprehension and research skills.
